Our Team

Mr. Robert A. Simon, moved to the United States from Venezuela when he was 13 years old.  He studied Industrial Engineering at West Virginia University which fast tracked his career into senior management roles within a couple of years after his graduation. 

While starting his career in the Non-Ferrous Metals Industry as Production Manager and eventually General Manager of Oregon Brass Works, within a few years he expanded his career into the Ferrous Metals Industry eventually becoming the Vice-President & General Manager for CF&I Steel which at the time was a newly acquired division of Oregon Steel Mills.  After Oregon Steel’s acquisition by EVRAZ North America, Rob took on the role of Executive Vice-President for the company’s Tubular Division.  

Rob’s career then expanded to Steel Dynamics, the country’s fifth largest steel company where he took on the role of Vice-President Structural Products.  He led the organization through a recovery from the financial crisis that quickly re-established a strong presence in the company’s markets while also developing a significant presence in new markets for the company.  Rob later accepted the position of CEO of the newly formed Bayou Steel Group, a steelmaking and finishing operation that produces and sells Merchant Bar and Small Beam products in North America. In 2020, Rob accepted the position of V.P. & General Manager of Buffalo Builders helping further develop a strong market presence and highlhy skilled management team using the company’s core competencies and values as a foundation.

Rob is passionate about culture where core values drive his team members to realize their utmost potential by learning to rely on each other, sharpening each other’s skills and driving performance metrics throughout the organization.  Rob has established a remarkable track record of improving and managing businesses throughout the steel industry, he is a seasoned industry leader.

Rob loves spending time with his family, has a dedication to health and fitness and a deep appreciation for music.

Ryan Perkins is the Mitigation Project Manager for BBI. Originally from Louisiana Ryan graduated from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette with a degree in Industrial Technology. After moving to Colorado three years ago, Ryan joined Buffalo Builders where he continues to work and grow professionally. In his free time, Ryan enjoys getting outside and hiking as well as playing basketball.

Patricia Byers has been in the construction industry for over 35 years.  From creating architectural illustrations, to working with a custom home builder, then moving on to the Housing & Building Assoc. as Director of Development. Before coming to BBI she spent 6 years in the fire protection industry. Patricia currently works at Buffalo Builders as our Project Coordinator.

Haley Powers graduated from McPherson College with a degree in Business where she was also a member of the Women’s Soccer Team. Haley has been with Buffalo Builders since 2015 and has worn many hats in that time. Currently she is the office manager overseeing the administrative staff in accounting and human resources. Out of the office she still plays soccer and enjoys spending time with her family.

Angela Kenison has been with Buffalo Builders for 13 years. She contributes to the team as Field Supervisor of Fire cleans, mold cleans, fire restoration, etc.  Prior to working at BBI, Angela spent over two decades in the construction industry.
